When did that happen? I have NO idea, but the email says it's Friday, and the calendar says it's Friday, and so it MUST BE FRIDAY....even if I have no idea where the first four weeks of this quarter disappeared to.
This year has flown by in some cases and crawled along at a snail's pace in others, but I hope that the students can remember all of the wonderful things that we did and learned...especially since next week is IAR testing! While there can be a lot of downsides to the standardized, tests, the kids always look on the bright side: SNACKS and EXTRA RECESS! Wahoo!
I personally kind of like state testing. It's not a perfect assessment tool, but it's fun for me to get scores back and be able to see if I taught the standards like I thought I was. Sure, this year the scores may be a little tainted by the events of this pandemic, but I'm still excited to see how our students perform! (Now if we just didn't have to wait six months for results!!)
A few updates:
1. We are re-starting our History Museum Project!
2. Kids will be interviewing and researching their local history topics.
3. We are locating/designing/building artifacts to place in our history museum.
4. We are still analyzing film techniques, writing techniques, and reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. In a few weeks we will start our screen play adaptations of the short story JK Rowling wrote, and then we will put our film knowledge into practice!
Stay tuned for specific dates for the museum and Film Festival!
