After wrapping up Knight Walk on Friday and having some technical difficulties (no internet!), we will push Friday's spelling test to tomorrow and THEN will start a new list for this week. We've been slow to get spelling started, so there were only 2 grades for the progress reports that went home Friday. Please sign those and send them back in with your students this week!
The House Points competition is in full swing with Ravenclaw off to an early lead - don't be discouraged, though, because there's plenty of time left!
Periodically, students will be expected to read a portion of the novel as homework. Knowing that not all students are comfortable reading longer novels and that not all students read at the same level, I will *try* to offer recordings of the chapters through our Google Classroom, which students can access through their school emails at home. The first installment, the recording of Chapter 3, went up today. Encourage your child to check it out - there are little side notes included that explain new words or some of the British phrases that may be unclear. If they choose not to listen, at least make sure they're reading - you never know when a pop quiz may appear!!
As usual, this list of homework is subject to change (especially if/when we get off on a tangent in Social Studies or spend too much time marveling at the incredible inventions and lifestyles of Ancient peoples....did your student tell you that the Sumerians are the ones who invented the 60-minute hour and the 60-second minute? Turns out we know exactly who to blame when we don't have enough time in the day!!!)
