Math teamwork reflection worksheet
It was another busy and fun day in 6th grade. If your kids are coming home tired, let me tell you it's because we work them HARD! Lots of brain power went into ELA class today as we talked about the important difference between a sentence and a fragment (not sure what that is? ask your student! It has something to do with expressing a complete thought....!), learning that TWO words CAN be a complete sentence, and discovering a new and important tool to prevent plagiarism: the 5 Ws worksheet!!! We revisited our friend Skippjon Jones today and practiced answering the main questions about a text: who it's about, what they did, why they did it, and where/when it happened. (They nailed it, PS.) Then we worked out the story on our plot map from yesterday and discussed the differences between the two. I had several requests for more Skippyjon, and I promise he's coming...but tomorrow will be another new and well loved children's book! Stay tuned for more details tomorrow!
Social Studies was a short game about hemispheres and getting to know how to use our text book - the maps are in the FRONT of this book!! Who does that?! Please help your student prepare for the
CONTINENTS AND OCEAN GEOGRAPHY MAP QUIZ this Friday!!!
As for intervention time, we are making the most of it as we prep things for other classes (mainly language vocab!), take learning style quizzes (as your kid what kind of modality they learn in: visual, tactile-kinesthetic, or auditory!), and of course the occasional extra recess. It can't ALL be hard work in 6th grade!!!
Can't wait to see everyone Thursday night at Open House!!!
