Today we read The Day the Crayons Quit and did a character analysis of the crayons - it was fun to see the kids apply their newly gained knowledge of characterization and inferencing! Some of them really dug deep and discovered some amazing things about their crayons!
Homework Today:
Social Studies: the end of Lesson 1, the Neolithic Era (pages 13-16)
Language: Compound sentences
Science: read the packet
Math: finish review/preview from yesterday
Spelling: test tomorrow morning!
Tomorrow we'll be watching Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone so we can acquire the background knowledge we need to read HP2 next week. We'll do a short character analysis project after we watch the film and start the novel next Thursday. I'm excited!
In Social Studies, we wrapped up the Ice Age and the Neolithic times and will head into Mesopotamia tomorrow. Plan on a test in about two weeks.
Hooray 6th grade!!
